Rania Hussein is director of strategic planning and process improvement at Ì©¹ú²ÊƱ (AUB) since 2020. She is responsible for the development and oversight of the strategic planning and process improvement functions at AUB. In addition, Rania collaborates with executives in developing strategic goals and objectives for the university and in formulating plans, initiatives, and measures to support their implementation.
Following her graduation in 1999, Rania worked at Ì©¹ú²ÊƱfor three years, before relocating to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For the next 15 years, she occupied various senior positions in renowned healthcare organizations, serving as director of the Quality and Risk Management Department at the Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital and risk manager at the International Medical Center Hospital. Rania provided leadership, guidance, and oversight of the quality and risk management programs as well as the strategic planning function in addition to leading hospital-wide efforts in preparation for national and international accreditation surveys. In 2016, she relocated back to Lebanon and rejoined Ì©¹ú²ÊƱas an executive administrator, then as a process improvement manager.
She holds a BA in sociology and a master of public health in health services administration, both from AUB.
Rania is a certified strategy and business planning professional, a certified KPI professional, a certified healthcare quality professional, and a certified hospital surveyor. She also holds a Lean-Kaizen certification in process management.
