  Founded in 1866, ̩��Ʊ is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. ̩��Ʊhas over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

A��-��󲹳ٳ� is a refereed journal published annually by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of ̩��Ʊ. The journal publishes articles and reviews in the fields of Arab and Middle Eastern studies.

Al-Abhath encourages the submission of articles written in English or Arabic dealing with Arab and Middle Eastern studies.
