Ì©¹ú²ÊƱMedical Graduates Achieve Exceptional ERAS 2025 Match Results

The 2025 residency match cycle brought exceptional success for graduates of Ì©¹ú²ÊƱ (AUB) Faculty of Medicine, reaffirming the institution's standing as a premier source of highly qualified and competitive candidates for postgraduate medical training. This year, Ì©¹ú²ÊƱgraduates achieved an outstanding match rate of 85%, the highest recorded over the past eight years. This marks a significant rise from the 75% match rate in 2024 and notably exceeds AUB's historical average (75%) and that of global (non-U.S. citizen) IMGs (58%).

The quality and caliber of placements further highlight the academic rigor and clinical readiness of AUB's graduating class. Graduates secured positions in a wide array of prestigious U.S. medical centers and residency programs, many of which are nationally recognized for excellence in training and research. Among the notable placements in 2025 were four matches in Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, and multiple matches in Internal Medicine and General Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. Ì©¹ú²ÊƱgraduates also matched at Johns Hopkins Hospital and NYU Grossman School of Medicine in Surgery-Preliminary tracks, as well as at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Pediatrics. Additional placements included Internal Medicine positions at Indiana University School of Medicine, the Medical University of South Carolina, and Cleveland Clinic. Others matched into competitive programs such as Vascular Surgery at Case Western/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, multiple specialties at Emory University including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine positions at Mayo Clinic and Yale University.

These results reflect a strong alignment between the professional goals of Ì©¹ú²ÊƱgraduates and the high expectations of US-based academic institutions. The diversity of matched specialties, ranging from Internal Medicine and Pediatrics to Obstetrics-Gynecology, Surgery, and subspecialty tracks, demonstrates the comprehensive training provided at Ì©¹ú²ÊƱand the broad appeal of its graduates across varied clinical disciplines. Securing positions in such well-regarded programs is more than a milestone; it is a gateway to future opportunities in competitive fellowships, academic medicine, and leadership within the healthcare sector.

This year's outcomes further underscore the importance of continued institutional investment in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) preparation. Initiatives such as academic advising, United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) readiness, and robust research mentorship have proven instrumental in supporting students through the residency application process. The success of the 2025 cohort offers strong momentum for enhancing AUB's global presence and sustaining its tradition of excellence in postgraduate placement and international medical education.
