ċċThe Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that the Master’s in Human Resource Management program (MHRM) at the S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) fully aligns with the SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates through 2028.
Being recognized as a “SHRM-aligned program” signifies that OSB’s MHRM program covers core competencies essential for success in the HR profession. By adhering to the SHRM’s Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (BASK) framework, “OSB provides employers with reassurance that our MHRM graduates have received a well-rounded education designed to equip them with the essential HR knowledge, skills, and abilities to be a proficient and strategic HR professional able to meet the increasingly global demands of the profession”, discusses Dr. Makarem, MHRM Program Director and Assistant Professor of HRD at OSB.
With over 500 programs across approximately 557 educational institutions worldwide recognized by SHRM for their alignment with its guidelines, OSB joins a select group of institutions dedicated to upholding excellence in HR education. The SHRM HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates serve as a benchmark for defining the essential areas of study for HR students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines—created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2022—are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
As a SHRM Recertification Provider, OSB-MHRM is now recognized as a “provider of choice” for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential holders working to maintain their credential. As such, our MHRM program is pre-approved by SHRM for recertification professional development credits (PDCs).
