  Founded in 1866, ̩��Ʊ is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. ̩��Ʊhas over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

The main language of instruction is English.

Policies and Procedures

As part of AUB's commitment to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment, the Office of the President developed policies addressing Sexual Harassment, Non-Discrimination and Anti Discriminatory Harassment, and Consensual Sexual or Romantic Relationships. The policies aim at promoting a safe, respectful and ethical work and academic environment in which members of the ̩��Ʊcommunity are free from discrimination or discriminatory harassment , including sex discrimination and sexual harassment. They also address and aim at regulating consensual sexual or romantic relationships that may give rise to a conflict of interest, to actual or apparent favoritism, negative bias, or exploitation.
