  Founded in 1866, ̩��Ʊ is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. ̩��Ʊhas over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

The main language of instruction is English.

The Office of Development in Beirut and North America works closely with AUB’s Board of Trustees, its president, academic deans, and faculty to raise money for university priorities.

In January 2017, we launched BOLDLY AUB: The Campaign to Lead, Innovate, and Serve. The goal of this five-year $650 million fundraising campaign, the most ambitious in ̩��Ʊhistory, is to increase financial aid; reinvigorate liberal arts education; promote interdisciplinary research; enhance the well-being of communities; strengthen outreach; and for the AUBMC 2020 vision that is reinforcing the position of the ̩��ƱMedical Center as the leading provider of healthcare, medical education, and related research in the region.
